Ever wish you could just melt fat away from certain areas of your body and replace it with tight skin? Now you can, because this innovative new procedure for removing excess body fat and firming loose skin is unlike any other traditional liposuction method you have heard about.

LifeSculpt™ powered by SlimLipo™ is an effective device for melting fat with out tearing through tissue structure. Through the use of a single laser fiber, which is introduced into the body through a small tube that looks and acts like a straw, and it is called a cannula. The result is less body trauma and significant fat removal and dermal heating. The heating of dermal tissue has been shown to have skin tightening results.

Slim Lipo Sculpture is a highly individualized procedure that requires careful consideration of your specific concerns and the areas in which you desire improvement. This procedure can help you because we use a revolutionary laser called Life-Sculpt™ powered by SlimLipo™ which utilizes “fat melting” laser wavelength. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that requires just a few tiny incisions; this patented laser gently melts fat for removal from your body. Then the SlimLipo™ device will laser the area of concern melting away the fat and increasing the collagen production from your skin and therefore leaving better skin tight. Once the laser tip has loosened excess fat, the fat is removed using a surgical vacuum or powered suction device in or near the area to be suctioned for insertion of an appropriately sized cannula. An alternative method uses a syringe attached to the cannula to manually suction away fat. In some cases, incisions may be so small that no stitches are required for closure. Manual suctioning with a syringe is more commonly used when areas of fat removal are small and very isolated, or when it is planned that the fat will be processed and re-injected in other areas of the body at a latter date in time.. This procedure is called fat grafting and may be used to fill-in wrinkles or hollow areas of the face or depressions appearing anywhere on the face or body.

Where large amounts are suctioned from one area, compression garments may assist during the healing process to help skin conform to the reduced body contours. Secondary procedures may sometimes be recommended to reduce excess skin.

Special considerations are needed when large amounts, usually more than 5 liters, or 5000 cc, of fat are suctioned.

The LifeSculpt™ powered by SlimLipo™ Procedure, is fast and often takes under an hour for a given area. Typically, one treatment is enough for a given area.

After your first consultation, there is a pre-procedure preparation and physical work-up; preformed by Eve Women’s Medical Cosmetic and Laser Physician during this exam the doctor will be happy to go over any questions you may have concerning the procedure we will also provide you with specific instructions that may include:

Pre-surgical considerations, diagnostic testing and medications
Day of surgery instructions and medications
Specific information related to the use of anesthesia
Postoperative care and follow-up
List of medications, vitamins, and herbs, to avoid 2-weeks before surgery

You will also be asked to review and sign consent forms to assure that you fully understand the procedure, risks or potential complications.

Possible risks of liposuction include uneven contours, ripping or loose skin, skin or nerve damage, irregular pigmentation, infection at the surgical site, fat clots, blood clots, excessive fluid loss or fluid accumulation. In addition there is risk of thermal burn or heat injury from ultrasound with UAL technique. All surgery carries risks associated with anesthesia. What to expect?

SLIM LIPOSCULPTURE is performed in our out-patient office-based facility,, usually under local anesthesia with or without sedation. The decision for anesthesia will be based on the requirements of your specific procedure and considerations of patient and surgeon preference. Your experienced board certified surgeon and the nursing staff will attend to your comfort and safety.

How Will I Feel During The Procedure

You may be pleasantly surprised how little discomfort the typical patient feels during this procedure. Life-Sculpt™ powered by Slim-Lipo™ system is designed to ease unnecessary trauma to the body—your physician will choose the anesthesia most appropriate for you. We do have the expertise to perform this procedure using local anesthesia using certain pain blocking and anti-anxiety IV medications. What this means for you is not only are you comfortable during the procedure but, you will be able to help the doctor by telling him when you feel warmth in a treatment area. This action will allow the doctor to remove more fat: and eliminate the risk of an internal burn usually associated with this procedure and general anesthesia.

How Will I Feel After The Procedure

Once your procedure is completed, you will be looked after by the doctor and the surgical recovery nursing staff; in one of our private recovery cocoons. A compression garment or elastic bandages may cover treatment areas. These assist to control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contours. Sometimes a small temporary drain may be placed into an existing incision beneath the skin to remove any excess fluid, you will be monitored for a few hours, after which the doctor will perform the final exam and sign you out. You must have an accompanying family member, friend or caregiver who is over 18 years of age and able to drive you home. At the time of your discharge from recovery room, will be given specific instructions that may include:

Medications to apply or take orally to aid healing and reduce the potential for infection
Specific concerns to look for at the surgical site or in your general health
When to follow up with your plastic surgeon

Progress and Healing; Yes this procedure for removing fat is very different from traditional liposuction procedures because:

Traditional liposuction leaves larger scars, causes more bleeding and more post-treatment pain, and requires longer healing times than the Life-Sculpt™ powered by Slim-Lipo™. Also, traditional liposuction physically breaks up and suctions out intact fat cells, while the Life-Sculpt™ powered by Slim-Lipo™ efficiently melts and liquefies fat, which is then gently removed from your body, this procedure is easier on your body.

How long is the recovery time, and what should I expect?

Typically, the Procedure recovery time is shorter than traditional liposuction. Many patients can go to work the very next day. In general, a return to light, normal activity is possible as soon as you feel ready and is encouraged to prevent blood clots and other complications.

You may see slight bruising at the small incision sites, which may take several weeks to completely resolve.

Compression garments may be required for a short period of time.

Your physician will provide specific postoperative instructions based on the technique and extent of your procedure before leaving the Center, along with a 24hr telephone number to call if you experience any conditions requiring the doctor’s immediate attention.

Follow all instructions carefully this is essential to the success of your outcome.

Initial wound healing may take from 5 to 10 days, at which time any sutures will be removed, if necessary. Healing will continue for several weeks as swelling continues to dissipate. Incisions lines will improve over time.

Continue to follow your doctor’s instructions and attend follow-up visits as scheduled.

You will be encouraged to control your weight, as significant weight gain can reverse your results.
