Progesterone -Bio-identical Hormone Therapy
Anti-aging Services
Progesterone is mainly produced by the corpus luteum in the ovaries
just prior to and after ovulation. It is also produced in large
quantities by the placenta during pregnancy and in small quantities by
the adrenal glands. Progesterone may enhance estrogen activity while
also moderating (decreasing) symptoms of estrogen excess like water
retention, fat accumulation, fibrocystic breast changes, sugar craving,
uterine bleeding etc. also it helps with anxiety and sleep difficulties
as well as mood swings.
Progesterone is one of the first hormones to decline during peri-menopause
and menopause. (Estrogen is the last to decline and sometimes it never
goes down significantly as fat cells and adrenal glands can make more).
