D.H.T. or Dehydroxy-testosterone In men 25% is secreted by testes and
75% from conversion of Testosterone in liver, kidney, muscle, prostate
and skin. In women is mostly converted in liver, kidney, muscle and
skin.
Excess of D.H.T. is responsible, in men, for androgenic alopecia (hair
loss) and Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.
In women an excess of D.H.T. produces "hirsutism" (inappropriate hair
growth). In Utero, however, it is necessary for the development of male
sex characteristics.
Like with any other hormone optimal balance is required for wellness. |
