WELCOME TO EVE
MEDICAL
MIAMI ANTI-AGING, REJUVENATION, & LONGEVITY CLINIC
MICRODERMABRASION and CHEMICAL PEELS
At Eve Women's Medical we offer various types of facial "peels" with distinctive purposes and results.
They do not result in any scaling or blistering and do no require any "downtime". All of these facial procedures
are done in the office in about ten minutes and patients are free to continue their normal daily routine afterwards.
The effects of these treatments are further enhanced by using products at home with ingredients, such as vitamins A
and C and alpha-hydroxy acids that are complementary to the office treatments.
Microdermabrasion and chemical peels are exfoliation procedures used to superfi-skin.
Skin rejuvenation with exfoliation treatments is based on the principles of wounding
and removing superficial skin layers in a controlled manner, cell renew regeneration of
a healthier epidermis and dermis.
Our treatments are designed to destroy pre-cancerous skin cells. Pre-cancerous, sun damaged skin cells are often not
visible on the surface of the skin. This treatment selectively destroys these cells, erasing years of sun exposure and
possibly preventing future surgery or other treatments for skin cancer or pre-cancers. The treatment consists of two clear
liquids applied to the skin and allowed to dry. As an added benefit, the treatments leave the skin with a softer, clearer,
smoother texture. The recommended treatment schedule is once a week for eight weeks. Glycolic, or alpha hydroxy treatments, are
an exfoliating treatment that will leave your skin more smoothly textured, healthier looking and more radiant. Alpha hydroxy
acids, which are naturally occurring acids derived from fruit and sugar cane, help to loosen and remove the layers of dead cells
that accumulate on the surface of the skin, revealing fresh, undamaged skin underneath. Regular use will improve the appearance
of fine lines and wrinkles, superficial pigmentation (discoloration), acne and dull, dry skin. During the treatment, the skin is
first cleansed, then liquid or gel is applied which may feel tingly. A neutralizing liquid and a moisturizer is applied. Six
weekly treatments are recommended, starting with a low concentration of glycolic and progressing to as high of a concentration
as is desired by the patient. Amino fruit acids like their first cousins the alpha hydroxy acids, are used to improve the tone
and texture of the skin, decrease visible wrinkling and reduce brown spots. They are effective with less irritation than some
patients experience with glycolic acid. The skin is first cleansed and the gel is applied and left on for a few minutes.
Subsequent treatments use progressively higher concentrations and/or are left on for longer duration. The skin is neutralized
and the patient is instructed to apply a moisturizer one hour after the procedure. Six treatments, usually weekly, are recommended.
DERMAPEEL OR MICRO-ABRASSION TREATMENTS
This procedure acts to remove the outer layer of dead skin by applying a spray of fine crystal particles in a highly controlled manner to "erase" imperfections and sun damage without pain or sensitivity. It is recommended for improving skin conditions such as age spots and fine wrinkling, pigmentation due to sun exposure, acne, and blackheads.
A glass tube is lightly brushed over the skin, applying the crystals that are sprayed over the surface and vacuumed up again in one movement. At the end of the treatment, the patient rinses their face and an oil-free moisturizer is applied. The whole procedure takes about 30 minutes. The skin looks smoother and softer immediately, without scabbing, crusting, or downtime. Weekly or biweekly treatments are advised, with an average of 6 treatments recommended to achieve optimal results.
DERMAPEEL
We now have a new and highly effective option for maintaining a youthful appearance. Patients seeking smooth skin have many choices at The Center, including laser resurfacing, glycolic, amino fruit acid, or our all natural peels, and Botox, and now microparticle skin resurfacing. The Dermaeel also fills a need for those patients who are not ready for a laser procedure but desire a polished, glowing skin tone.

GLYCODERM
Superficial glycolic acid peels and microdermabrasion are commonly used in facial rejuvenation, and both procedures are popular
among patients, physicians, and aestheticians. Appreciation for the benefits of these procedures has grown over the past several
years, mainly because of their controllability and patient acceptance.
Glycolic acid peeling is a form of chemical exfoliation, which enhances epidermal renewal and improves the dermal layer of the
skin through the stimulation of certain glycosaminoglycans, collagen and elastin formation. The increase in glycosaminoglycans
leads to increased water binding and plumping, and increased elasticity and pliability with the extracellular matrix, thus
resulting in visual and tactile improvements to photoaged skin. Microdermabrasion is a form of mechanical exfoliation that
physically removes the uppermost layers of the epidermis which facilitates skin repair and new cellular generation. Although
each has its own mechanism of action, glycolic acid peels and microdermabrasion can be combined to maximize treatment results
and patient satisfaction.
