IPL® FotoFacial™ (Photofacial) for Facial Rejuvenation
The IPL® (intense pulsed light) FotoFacial™ (sometimes written as "photofacial") is an advanced technology that we use to treat sun damaged skin. The procedure uses intense broad spectrum light in the visible and near infrared range from the Lumenis Quantum SR™. It is a highly effective laser light treatment for reducing the appearance of redness, rosacea, brown spots, and sun spots.
During the FotoFacial™ procedure, a cold gel is applied to the treatment area and the IPL® handpiece is gently placed on the skin to apply pulses of laser light. Your eye are protected with special shields. After the session, your skin may look a little pink like it is mildly sunburned. In the subsequent days, your brown spots may temporarily darken and then will peel off.
In addition to treating skin imperfections related to blood vessels and abnormal pigmentation, the IPL® FotoFacial™ procedure also improves skin texture and promotes a brighter complexion and overall facial rejuvenation.

Laser Surgery
Using our state-of-the-art lasers, we can treat common skin conditions, such as broken blood vessels, rosacea,
and pigmented lesions. We also use our lasers for laser hair removal and laser tattoo removal.
Laser Treatment of Facial Telangiectasia (Broken Blood Vessels)
Facial broken blood vessels or Telangiectasia commonly develop on the face from sun damage or rosacea.
With the Iridex Diolte 532 diode laser, these unsightly red blemishes are easily treated at our practice. The laser emits a
monochromatic light that is specifically designed to target blood vessels in the skin. The laser light is attracted to and
absorbed by the oxyhemoglobin in the blood vessels. The heat of this light causes the unwanted cells to decompose, while
leaving the surrounding cells unharmed.

How Fraxel Treament Works Wonders
Fraxel treatment is able to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas of skin, using pinpoint laser beams that
penetrate beneath the skins surface to eliminate old, damaged skin cells.
Your personalized Fraxel treatment plan
With Fraxel treatment, your physician can develop a treatment plan tailored to your skins individual needs.
Fraxel treatments can target between approximately 5 and 10 percent of the skin’s surface, leaving the remaining 50 to 95
percent available to quickly heal the treated areas. Expect two levels of results, immediate and progressive. Immediately
after initial healing is complete, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and tone will start to become
even. Progressive results occur over the next three to six months as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal.
Aggressive treatments require fewer sessions and results in more post treatment side effects – meaning a few days of social
downtime. Less aggressive treatments accomplish the same results, with a few more treatment sessions and less pronounced side
effects.
